Love Poem #229668
A Consequence of Parting
by Eric
I saw today a little girl, singing happily at play. She made me think of what I lost, when I left my own that day.
No smiles of joy from simple things, nor her laughter did I share, or the pure delight a child brings from playing with out care.
I wasn’t there to ease her fears, nor share her sorrows or her pain. And never got to wipe her tears, when she cried away amain.
I wasn't there to see her grow, into woman from a child. Though still I felt I had to go, I wish now I’d reconciled.
