Hope

When all thoughts of love desert you
And there’s nothing left to see
When another can bring longing
Of what you thought you used to be

When every sorrow, thought or sadness
Is meant to be hid away
No one’s sworn to see you through
No one takes care in what they say

Making break downs into sleeplessness
Making fighting into doubt
Pretending all around is pearly white
Pretending that’s all it will amount

Finding not happiness in moonshine
But a hope born on the lights
That dance across an open sea
To absorb all loves sweet sights

Give up what life won’t give you
And give thanks for what it will
Not wasting precious time to wonder
Not crying when the world stands still

Let yourself be worthy
Let all know they can see inside
Find another close around you
Who you can capture, who doesn’t mind

A face without a care to crease
Who’s greatest pain is trial
One who you can start again
That can call your ghost of smile

Don’t fret over threat of silence
For one sound could break the spell
Don’t read over every palm line
Except all’s harm, all’s well
