Always Hope

Well, these days we all have to be careful and that is what my friends were always telling me whenever I mentioned, "I have a date tonight." Knowing I had bought a computer and was curious about on-line dating. Well, my first few dates were good, but no prince charmings. If anything, I developed some good friendships, while others were no longer on my buddy list (and vice versa). Until one cold October day in 2000 when I was in a NJ chat room and caught the eye of someone and from there we spoke in a private instant message for a little bit. He seemed to be a good, honest guy, so we exchanged phone numbers. Over the next 6 months we spoke online as well as over the phone, making several attempts to meet face to face, but something always came up. I was becoming discourgaged, but never gave up. Finally on April 8th, 2001 we met and have been together ever since. We had the typical "date", dinner and a movie with some awesome conversation. He asked me out that night, but I was alittle cautious and said no. So on the drive home I had plenty of time to think and hope. The next day he called like he said he would and the rest of the week seemed like it could not go fast enough. The weekend arrived and we were together again, you see we lived a good 45 miles from each other. And this time when he asked me out, I said yes. We only saw each other on the weekends and holidays, speaking all the time. Until finally, he asked me to move in with him. So in September 2001, I packed up my stuff and moved in with him and his Mom. (It's all good.) Then much to my surprise on December 8th, 2001, in our birthday suits, he asked me to be his wife! Just a few days before my birthday, he said he could not wait. So now the date is set for the Spring of 2003. So there is a happy ending for those that don't believe in "Internet Love". Just gotta keep the faith.
