Love Story #4075
Faith, Hope, and Love
by Shane
Her name is Tara, we had known each other since high school. At first she disliked me for all the things I stood for, feelings that ran deep. Her past like my own was shady and filled with disappointments and deception. Though with friendship came "faith", with committment came "hope", and with difference came "Love".
We started off as any old high school friendship, speaking and bantering on about present day quams. Finally, delving into one anothers lives through it all with time we grew closer. She became and still is my best friend whom I can freely devulge anything to. Her openess and care for my well-being has forged a life long connection, a devotion of "faith" to the other that shall never cease.
The committment to one another started when we first met. For some time we were seperated by land, and sea. Through it all she always called at a certain time, every time, to conversate. She never let me down, and if we disagreed on a subject, rather then straining our relationship it only served to bring us closer together. I simply felt drawn to her, her charisma, her quirky mannerisms, the way she spoke so eloquently, her dazzling appearance or humanitarian outlook. She always would try to give rather then receive and to this day still does. With faith came hope and with difference came love.
The ability to converse so well, and happily committing ourselves to this relationship, it was evident that love was just around the corner. I've often reminisced at what point did I fall in love with her? Then I remind myself it was the time at Joe Foss Airfield where I had flown 20, 000 miles to be with her once again that the spark was still there, although now the spark was a flame. The love I knew held deep inside me was forever changed that day. Eventually the pinnacle of our love came in a little single storey house, in a little Australian city called Brisbane where life was given meaning when I proposed! With her enthusiastic reply of "Yes", love had truly made the difference to me.
She never ceases to make my heart "double beat" every time I see her. Faith, Hope, and Love gave life meaning, and all Tara had to do was be herself. We were high school friends, who have now become engaged. Five years have passed and yet I still feel this way, one hundred years could pass and in this life and the next, she shall forever be the eye of my affection.
